Physical, Spiritual and Psychological Connection

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate myself in the following categories:
physical well being -9
spiritual well being- 4
psychological well being- 6
I am really only excelling in one category as you can very well see haha. I am in good shape, I workout five days a week. I eat right most of the time, do cardio, and strength training often. My goal is to be in the best shape of my life by the time we get married next year. I have slacked on my spiritual well being. I am a very spiritual person however I have lost touch with that side due to simply not making it a priority anymore. I feel the spirituality and psychological parts are so interconnected and affect each other greatly. My goal is to connect with my church and my spiritual side again. I would also like to get my fiance involved in this too because it will make our relationship stronger. I can move toward this goal by simply saying my prayers every night and making more of an attempt to go to church, where I feel at home and at peace. I found the The Crime of the Century exercise a little frustrating and a little beneficial. I don't know about you guys, but I connected more with last weeks meditation. Maybe its just my HUGE to do list calling me though....
Happy Thursday!

  2. Ashley,

It is important to be well-rounded, especially in a new marriage. The spiritual connection with new to be husband will make your relationship even stronger, and you guys might actually understand each more in the future then you do now. Getting your fiance on the same track will help benefit you because he will be your motivator. Good luck.

  3. Wow! I wish I could get physically fit like that! Very inspirational. With your wedding coming up, that must be such a good feeling! I need to get that kind of motivation to workout 5 days a week. Along with your prayers at night, I would recommend trying meditation as well. I think the meditation practice from this week is a little advanced for someone who is not used to sitting still for so long with visualization. But just sitting still for 5-10 minutes with some soft music playing in the background and clearing your thoughts is a form of meditation. Then once you have more practice with that, you can move on to more advanced techniques. Good luck with your wedding!

  4. Great post Ashley. I think that I am too hard on myself, even though I am in the greatest shape of my life even better since high school and I have worked so hard to get there post 2 pregnancies and I feel amazing but I still rated myself an 8.I admire your self assurance and I wish you the best in your marriage. I think that as life happens we tend to lose track of our spirituality and do not hold it to heart as we should. It is difficult in staying on top everything that life has to offer.
